Innocence & Intelligence
We few people from my office gathered in my manager’s residence for a function, his dad’s 60th birthday. The ceremony was over and we were in a group seated in round table and chatting. There was a large veranda in the front and there was a corner house. The door was kept wide open. We saw a mother and a baby walking in and out, seemed busy like getting ready for a party. The baby was clad in a cute traditional silk skirt. So cute a toddler just learning to walk! We were admiring her as she was walking with her cute little toes, holding a bottle of milk. Somehow she looked at me in the whole group and people around me were envious. I was in the air and was trying to act smart. I was signaling her to come near us waving my hands to her. She stared and then walked back to her house. Once inside the house, secretly she turned and looked at me. Second time, she was outside her house and was walking in the veranda and I was once again acting smart. This time again she walked all the way back to her house and when she just crossed the door, she turned, looked at me and made a funny face raising both the hands above her head :( Envious people had a good treat watching her making face at me!!! So little she is and so smart to know her zone of safety. She could have made face when she was in the veranda. So sure that she cannot escape if I am to chase her in the veranda, she went past the door of her house to show all her reaction. Home is a sweet home for everyone!
